Gitanjali Banerjee, Fertility Dost Founder & CEO, was born and brought up in Lucknow. A JNU alumni, an acclaimed writer, content manager, a proud wife of a soldier had a huge reality check when infertility hit her.

She overcame 5 miscarriages, 3 molar pregnancies, 1 failed IVF, a brush with ovarian cancer and suicidal depression. One day she decided to turn around everything. She decided to work on her mind-body-life balance & finally had a successful IVF. Her struggles with infertility made her realize the emotional and physical pain, lack of awareness And the need for a holistic fertility treatment. This is what became the founding principle of Fertility Dost.

4 Failed IVF, Twin Stillbirth & Adoption

Purnima Sood, born & brought up in Ludhiana , Punjab had a decade long fight with infertility, facing 4 failed IVF & twin stillbirths. Her twins didn’t survive in front of her for more than an hour and that she says was the hardest thing to accept & overcome in her life. She didn’t give up on her dream to become a mother & chose to become a heart mother. She went for adoption.

She knew there has to be a better way to manage infertility. Together with Gitanjali, she worked on finding that perfect magical potion to support especially women undergoing the struggle similar to hers.

Milestones In Fertility Dost History

As there was no other patient support platform in India at that time, we started by pilot testing through a closed Facebook group. Within a month we received an overwhelming response through a deeply engaging community of women. Need was clearly established & we started working on building ‘Fertility Dost’. Our first website was launched by the name ‘Infertility Dost’. We started by building community & awareness on infertility. We got selected in IIT Delhi’s flagship incubator program for women entrepreneurs & won our first grant & gold medal. We were published in The Times of India and Times Now even before we got officially registered in December 2017!

In 2018, we rebranded ourselves from ‘Infertility Dost’ to ‘Fertility Dost’ with a vision of giving a positive message to our audience.

Fertility Dost got an exclusive feature in CNBC Awaaz, Dainik Jagran, YourStory.

Public Affairs Department, USA and Cultural Vistas selected Fertility Dost amongst top 20 women from India and awarded a small grant. The DO School, Germany – Fertility Dost won the 1st prize & grant among participants from 80 countries. Zone Startups, India supported by DST and BSE selected Ms Gitanjali Banerjee among 15 women entrepreneurs for seed grant.

Even when the world stood still in 2020, the pandemic couldn't stop us. Fertility Dost launched a uniquely designed and curated Online Fertility Coach Program which made fertility healthcare, support and doctor appointments easily available to couples from the comfort of their homes. The Channel 46 recognised Fertility Dost as an exemplary social entrepreneurship with complete focus on infertility care. We further received a small grant from the Pollination Project USA.

Our online coach program turned out to be a massive hit. We engaged with 200+ doctors across India who wholeheartedly supported our awareness initiative & we were able to impact 10 million people. We got an exclusive feature in Deccan Herald. Fertility Dost was also awarded as ‘The Face of Vibrant Bharat’ by Money Control.

In July 2022 our founder Ms. Banerjee was invited for a talk show in BBC World News on egg freezing with Dr Hrishikesh Pai and Diana Hayden. In November 2022, Fertility Dost participated in the ‘FemTech Lab Accelerator Program’ and got an opportunity to showcase our work, vision and our Fertility Care Program amidst many other international femtech startups in London. We got exclusive features in print media and radio channels like Dainik Bhaskar, Punjab Kesari, News 18, India TV, Radio 92.7, Hindustan times, Indian express.

The year 2023 began the journey of Gitanjali Banerjee from an entrepreneur to an author with her first book - How to get pregnant with IVf? which received massive appreciation from the readers.

Going forward our vision is to support 1 million couples in their fertility journey and revolutionise the way people manage their fertility treatment

Shivani was earlier a member of Fertility Dost & after overcoming her personal hormonal issue, she joined Fertility Dost as Fertility Coach. She is an MBA & a Diploma in Nutrition and Health Education from IGNOU but she loves keeping members on their fertilty health track, the most.

Dr. Swathi Ashutosh

Head-Fertility Ayurveda

Dr. Swathi is a certified BAMS Doctor, with M.S. in (Ayu) and holds a PG Diploma in Garbh Sanskar Antenatal Program and Associate professor. She is also working as Medical Advisor and as Ayurveda expert at Sesa Hair Care. Her previous work experience includes working with Patanjali Ayurveda hospital & college (Haridwar) and Department of Prasuti Tantra, IMS, BHU.

Dr. Amandeep is a certified BAMS from Government Ayurvedic College, Patiala. She has immense expertise in planning fertility nutrition & is always happy to interact & guide about 'all things food'
